Most care-related tasks are challenging or fail altogether because the abilities, talents, and mental skills of those needing assistance are not considered. MĪ Care has significantly improved my husband’s life. It identified activities that were suitable for my husband’s mental abilities. Because he does well with the activities MĪ Care suggested, he’s finding more joy in life and is less burdened by depression. He’s even rediscovered his passion for painting, a hobby he had set aside for over two decades.
Upon moving into memory care, my mom felt very uncomfortable in her new environment, which caused her to isolate herself to avoid interacting with staff and fellow residents. I contacted the CFHDC for assistance. Using their MĪ Care program, they identified areas within the facility where she would feel the most comfortable, increasing her likelihood of socializing, which worked wonders. While, at times, she still prefers to be alone, MĪ Care has allowed her to get the social engagement she desperately needs.
My mother, who has dementia, refused to participate in activities. The CFHDC explained that her reluctance might be due to her lack of aptitude for the activities I presented to her. After determining her strengths, they identified suitable activities she enjoyed and did well at! After several weeks, she became more proficient with each task, helping her become happier than she had been in quite some time.
